Dr. Welch is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Fraud Examiner. He directs royalty audits, valuation projects, and serves as a damages expert. Dave is a former professor of Accounting, Forensic Accounting, and Fraud Examination with more than 20 years of experience, including providing forensic accounting services to attorneys involved in business litigation. Strengths include the ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative information, determine the issues, and develop a professional opinion. Dr. Welch is noted for his ability to provide clear and convincing written reports and easily-understood expert witness testimony.

Dave recognizes the primary reasons for underreporting and underpayment of royalty earnings, including both inadvertent and willful reporting errors. His expertise in forensic accounting includes the ability to recognize non-compliant accounting practices and other causes of error in reporting and payment. He has the knowledge and skills needed to make accurate determinations of the correct amounts due and owing.

Dave is the founder and owner of Welch & Associates, LLC, a successful national consulting firm providing services to attorneys and others specializing in financial statement analysis, corporate governance and internal control review, and procedure/policy advisement for public and private corporations and not-for-profit sector entities (e.g., churches and schools). Dave serves as an active leader in education and public service organizations as part of a track record that includes Board of Education positions in Ohio and Virginia. He was head of the audit committee for the Board of Education, Groveport Community Schools 2008-09. He also serves as Director, Voices for Corporate Responsibility in Washington, DC (2010-13).

Dave delivers impressive credentials to AmiCOUR IP Group clients, including a Doctorate in Business Administration, Accounting from Argosy University, a Master of Business Administration with a Concentration in Accounting and Management and a Bachelor of Business Administration from East Tennessee State University. He has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant since 1993 in Tennessee, Ohio, and Virginia. As a Certified Fraud Examiner, Dave is an active Member of the National Association of Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), and is a member of the Greater Washington/Baltimore Chapter of the ACFE. Prior to relocating to the Washington, DC area, he served as president of the Central Ohio Chapter of the ACFE.
